SimLab 13.0 release highlights:

CAD Interface

- CATIA R23 support is added

- STEP to Parasolid using Parasolid Kernels’ is added

Geometry

- Fillet Creation for multiple disconnected edge loops is supported

- Ellipsoid creation for acoustic is improved , different element types are supported including Pyramid elements

- Sew option is extended for FE sheet bodies.

- Model compare option is enhanced to compare CAD-FEM models, topology consideration is added .

- Mid node deviation calculation is supported. Fringe plot visualization is added.

- Basic Transformation operations (Translate, Rotate & Mirror) are supported for CAD bodies.

Meshing

- New Meshcontrol GUI is added.

- Option added to orient the element edges of the fillet faces

- Automatically merging bodies is supported for sheet body meshing.

- Local re-mesh performance is improved greatly for Edge and Element input from large model

- Option added to input the tolerance for Element intersection calculation.

- Aspect ratio cleanup performance is improved

- Axisymmetric meshing is enhanced to work for partially revolved bodies and transfer of attributes from CAD to FE is done - automatically.

- Local wrap performance and robustness is improved significantly. Option added to preserve internal faces during local wrap.

- Pyramid element creation supported for transition between Hex to Tet .

Assembly

- Undo support added for all Join operation.

- Local re-mesh is done automatically after Boolean operations.

FEM

- Modify Element ( Tri to Quad , Quad to Tri) performance is improved.

- Renumbering of Node, Element sets is supported

- Imprint sphere with different patterns is supported.

- Analysis – Structural & Thermal

- Equal distribution of Point load on Edge / Face option is supported.

- Friction dependent surface interaction parameters – Slip Rate, Contact Pressure and Average Temperature are supported.

- Option to Trim both Master and Slave surfaces is added.

- File based contact creation is enhanced for ADVENTURECluster sover.

- Abaqus to OptiStruct conversion option is enhanced.

- Contact type based Query option is added.

- CDB file export for Ansys is added for Node, Elements and Sets.

Results

- Abaqus 6.13 results reading is supported.

- H3D results reading is supported for OptiStruct results in addition to op2

- Bore Distortion Order summary plot is added

Special

- Two new fillet patterns are added for crank bay model

- Weld creation tool is added to create the weld bead between two quad mesh faces.

- Many new functionalities are supported in scripting and common script functions like DefinePlaneFromGroup , Offsetplane etc are - added.
