Gamma Technologies Inc. (GTI), leading supplier of CAE software to the engine and powertrain automotive industry, has released an update for GT-Suite 7.4, a product combining preprocessors and postprocessors solvers for modeling workflow vehicles and their engines.

The GT-SUITE software from Gamma Technologies offers a multi-physics platform for developing complete vehicle models for energy management studies, basic controls and calibration development, drive cycle analysis and powertrain architecture synthesis.

GT-Suite consists of the following components:

- GT-Power: Market leading engine simulation, capable of predicting manifold dynamics, combustion, emissions, acoustics and control strategies

- GT-Drive: Powertrain and vehicle simulation used for analysis of driving cycles and driveline component dynamics

- GT-Vtrain: Valvetrain kinematics, dynamics and tribology

- GT-Fuel: Injection system pressure and flow dynamics

- GT-Cool: Engine heat management and cooling system analysis

- GT-Cam: Interactive cam design tool

The latest version 7.4 includes many new features developed based on customer requests, for example in the area of transmission modeling (manual transmissions), engine modeling (new torque-based control scheme) and control (new options in building arbitrary control logic, “wire-less” signal transmission, high-level ECU compounds, enhanced tuning parameter options for the PID controller, etc.). To aid model building, the software contains many pre-assembled examples, including a detailed through-the-road diesel hybrid model that integrates EngineState, three cooling loops, AT system, vehicle and advanced controls.
